SCUBA Antigua Dive Site Descriptions
Dive Site Name: Jettias Wreck
Depth: 25 Feet
Time to site: 15 Minutes
Description: An old French steamer sunk in the late 1800's, covered in corals both soft and hard. Although much of the ship is flattened, the boilers, bridge helm and stern and long sections of decking are still very prominent. An amazing variety of large fish including; Snappers, Bar Jacks, Seargeant Majors, Barracuda, Nurse-Sharks, French Angel Fish, Wrasse. Other marine life includes; Turtles, Lobsters and Crabs.
Comments: This is a shallow dive for all first time divers, it's one of the prettiest and underestimated, there can be surge and sometimes a strong current.
Visibility: 20 to 50 feet depending on weather conditions.


Dive Site Name: Pillars Reef
Depth: 40 Feet
Time to site: 45 Minutes
Description: A prestine coral finger reef, stretching down a long natural reef, south of the island. The dive begins at the boat mooring and stretches up to a large section of coral pillars reaching up to 20 feet. Fish include; Snappers, Bar Jacks, Seargeant Majors, trigger fish, sting-rays, Nurse-Sharks, French Angel Fish, Wrasse. Other marine life includes; Lobsters and Crabs.
Comments: A real pretty aquarium like dive, with large shoals of fish, grouping over the reefs and many crevices for all types of fish to shelter.

Visibility: 40 to 60 feet depending on weather conditions.


Dive Site Name: Snappers Ledge
Depth: 60 to a 100 Feet maximum
Time to site: 45 Minutes
Description: A pretty sweet set of reefs, reaching down to 100 feet. a fantastic variety of hard and soft corals including huge Barrel corrals. Fish include; Snappers, Bar Jacks, Seargeant Majors, trigger fish, sting-rays, Nurse-Sharks, Reef-Sharks, all manner of fish and huge lobsters.
Comments: A fantastic deep dive with excellent visibility and an amazing variety of marine life. No surge or current, but weather can induce large swells which curtail diving this on this reef.
Visibility: 60to 100 feet+, depending on weather conditions.
